Bramah HR is recruiting for an Office Manager and Assistant Safeguarding Lead to join a brilliant organisation in the education sector. A term time only role plus three weeks this role is a fantastic dual role ideal for someone with an education background and understanding for how day to day operations work in these types of environments.
Office Management Duties:
– Oversee and manage all administrative tasks in the office.
– Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and events.
– Maintain office supplies and equipment inventory.
– Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence.
– Manage office budgets and expenses.
– Supervise administrative staff and provide guidance and support.
– Ensure office policies and procedures are followed.
– Assist with HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations.
– Maintain a safe and secure working environment.
Safeguarding Duties:
You will assist the designated lead in your capacity as assistant safeguarding lead and may occasionally fill in for them. Important responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Making sure all students know how to approach a staff member with concerns.
– Ensuring risk assessments are implemented, recognised, and routinely reviewed.
– Ensuring all suspected incidences of abuse are reported to the local government and children’s social services.
– Liaise with outside organisations and partners in safeguarding in order to support the designated lead in managing issues expressed about the school’s safeguarding system
– Act as a resource of help and direction for staff on matters of decision making.
– Help the DSL with referrals.
– Maintain accurate referral records.
– Participate in meetings as required.
– Regularly update employee training on safeguarding issues, maybe through staff meetings, newsletters, weekly bulletins, or online updates.
– Ensuring that all employees have received e-safety training and are able to explain the procedures for school safeguarding.
– Ensuring that all staff members have received the necessary training to comprehend the main ideas of Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
– To hold regular conferences with the safeguarding governor and make sure they receive the proper contextual training.
– To adopt safer recruitment procedures in schools and to receive training in safer recruitment.
– To collaborate with other senior leaders in their roles to provide effective safeguarding throughout the school.
Skills:
– Proven experience as an office manager or in a similar role in the education sector
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
– Excellent organisational and time management skills
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
– Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
– Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
– Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred

Salary: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
